Bilston Central opened on the Birmingham to Wolverhampton tram line 1 in 1999. It is close to Bilston Bus Station with brick lined walls. It is now within West Midlands Metro Zone 3.

In brief

Bilston Central was built within a brick-lined cutting of the former Great Western Railway, in the centre of Bilston Town Centre, and is next to Bilston Bus Station. The tram stop is a short distance from the site of the original Bilston Central railway station which closed in 1972. The tram stop opened in 1999.

There is two entrances to the tram stop with steps. To the north is the Church Street entrance with steps only.

The other entrance has a lift and steps and is near Bilston Bus Station and Hall Street.

The platforms are split, with a paved pedestrian walk way over the tracks. The Birmingham bound platform closer to Church Street.

The Wolverhampton bound platform is closer to Hall Street and the bus station. From time to time, the lift might be out of order.
